RINGETTE SCORES ON CANCER HISTORY

In January 2010, the Ringette Scores on Cancer Foundation partnered with the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the University of Alberta Ringette Team to host the first ever Ringette Scores on Cancer. The inaugral event raised an astonishing $57,000 for research at the Cross Cancer Institute. Building on that early success subsequent annual events have continued to add to the total raised for cancer research as follows:

The members of the Ringette Scores on Cancer Foundation, the staff of the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the players and coaches of the University Ringette team have worked tirelessly to make Ringette Scores on Cancer a tremendous success. The University Ringette Team's efforts were recognized by the President of the University of Alberta and Ringette Alberta. As well, the University Ringette Team was presented with a prestigious National Philanthropy Award in recognition of its efforts.

In June 2014 the University Ringette Team was inducted into the City of Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of its outstanding community service activities, including Ringette Scores on Cancer.

Inspired by the incredible success of the first three Ringette Scores on Cancer events the Ringette Scores on Cancer Foundation, the University Ringette Team and the Alberta Cancer Foundation have once again partnered to make the 12th annual Ringette Scores on Cancer a reality. With many teams participating in January 2021 another significant amount of money will no doubt be raised for research at the Cross Cancer Institute.
