SCHOOL VISITATION PROGRAM

Members of the Ringette Scores On Cancer Foundation (RSOCF), many of whom are players on the University Ringette Team, are available to visit elementary and junior high schools in the greater Edmonton area. There is no cost involved for a school visitation as the team's players are very passionate about this program and donate their time.

The RSOCF athletes will discuss, with the children, the importance of achieving excellence in athletics, as well as in academics. Using equipment supplied by the team, players will teach the children how to play ringette in the school's gym. The children will experience first hand the fun of playing ringette and learn about the importance of being physically active in their lives.

The University Ringette Team's roster includes some of the very best university ringette players currently on the ice in Canada. The University Ringette Team has won gold four times at the University Challenge Cup making them Canadian National University Champions for the 2011/2012, 2012/2013, 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 seasons. Furthermore, the academic performance of these student athletes is consistently one of the best of any university sports team in Canada. For the 2018/2019 academic year the University team achieved an incredible collective 3.6 GPA with 16 players receiving a total of $50,000 in ringette scholarships to recognize their academic excellence, outstanding contributions to the community and assistance with the growth and development of the sport of ringette. As such, they are truly wonderful role models for school children of all ages.

In June 2014 the University Ringette Team was inducted into the Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame.

In June 2015 the four coaches of the University Ringette Team were inducted into the City of Edmonton's Sports Hall of Fame in the Builder category.
